Having lived in the Southwest for over 10 years, the Papel Picado set by WPlus9 was a must have. I added in some Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine paper and the sentiment for the Life is Good collection. There are some other ideas percolating for this stamp and die set!
I created this using the September Simon Says Stamp Kit Life is a Storybook. The vintage feel of the papers in this kit went well with the Kraft paper.
I saw this design on a You Tube video by Dawn Griffith. It was the perfect excuse to pull out some Stampin’ Up papers. The round sentiment is from Avery Elle’s All Squared Up collection.
The red paper had an Asian feel, so adding some foiled origami paper and the paper crane and a sentiment from the Reverse Confetti Paper Crane set was a natural conclusion. The monthly sketch over at Reverse Confetti worked beautifully for this card.
I am so sad that the Jillibean Card Kitchen Kit club is ending. It has been a favorite of mine. The last kit featured the Jillibean Cool as a Cucumber collection. The bold colors and geometrics were pleasing.
I just acquired the new Jillibean Witches Brew collection from A Cherry On Top, it has an amusing black cat theme with many Halloween motifs. The link will also show you Jillibean’s Owloween collection. If Owls are your thing, you’ll love it.
Another example of how wonderfully the Card Kitchen kits inspire a new design. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps Amazing. Alas, I could not find it on their website. It is a favorite of mine
It was the layering that inspired me to try this sketch. For the most part, I used large scraps, cut them to size and built up this image. It’s an odd collection of scraps from various collections. It was a bit of a challenge to use the bold diamond pattern. When I pull out my Christmas supplies in another month or two, this may have a Christmas sentiment added to it.
For now, what do you think?
