Online Card Class Day 4

The focus was watercoloring. I embossed the Hero Arts trees in silver and did the watercolors with Distress Stains. I have no watercolors, but this substitution works beautifully. The background was faint enough that the trees did not show well. So, I rubbed Distress inks to create a more vivid effect. Next, I applied dots of Stickles. Stickles interact with the distress inks which adds more depth. I finished with a Simon Says Merry Christmas die.
(DH says this one looks ‘so good’ that it doesn’t look homemade. I am trying not to be offended!)

Stretch Your Stamps 2

The gals over at Online Card Classes have whipped up a pretty FAB first day for the new Stretch Your Stamps 2 class. Honestly, I was on the fence about this one. Between work and life, the last class I took barely got enough of my attention to justify it. The class was good, but I was a bad student. So, I am trying again, and it has inspired me!

The background stamp is from Hero Arts.  The Awesome die is from a recent Studio Calico kit. The color is from Distress Inks.  The flair came from somewhere, but I do not recall.

Well, unfortunately, the night ended before I could finish my second card, and there were two more techniques from today’s class that I haven’t even tried yet.  Still, I am looking forward to new lessons tomorrow even if I am already behind!
