It was the layering that inspired me to try this sketch. For the most part, I used large scraps, cut them to size and built up this image. It’s an odd collection of scraps from various collections. It was a bit of a challenge to use the bold diamond pattern. When I pull out my Christmas supplies in another month or two, this may have a Christmas sentiment added to it.

I applied Distress Paints onto the Simon Says Stamps Peppermint Stripe Stencil as the background. I mixed Dreamweaver Embossing paste with Pearlex powder and applied this with my Tim Holtz dot stencil. I used stamps from the Simon Says Shoot For the Stars set.
Well, it has not been sunny in Florida these days, and the new Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine collection helped brighten the cool and dreary days. The CAS theme challenge over at Lawnscaping provided me with the perfect opportunity to play with my new stamps, dies and papers. I was greatly inspired by Christy’s example.
